Those who are interested in the great American theologian Jonathan Edwards may find this of interest. Part of a long term collaborative publishing project to explore the cavernous notebooks of Edwards, the Visual Edwards Project aims to render Edwards’s thought structures into vibrant visualizations. This is accomplished by radically reimagining the possibilities of historical theology and direct contact with primary sources. The software project developed over time and has found its way into chapters of books, journal articles, and presentations at Gateway Seminary, Yale University, and Karoli Gaspar University in Budapest. Yet I confess that each of my publications and presentations were incomplete thoughts, simply exercises in thinking out loud. I made this off-the-cuff video today because I feel I have crossed a threshold of sorts.
